This is a catch up one - it's from end September/ beginning October
Reuben explained to us\why people sit where they do in
class:
"There are three of us who are at the top of the class
- Jason, Martin and I. Jason and Martin are together on a table. Miss Mary gave
me a table on my own with people who need help, because I'm responsible."
Naomi described what she was drawing as she went - rice, chicken, chocolate icecream, pears. She then flicked through Reuben's book (with
no pictures in it) and said "chicken,...rice,...chicken...."
Naomi can say so many words
more or less correctly. Her talking has got to the point where she adds
the words "really" and "actually"
Booth dush - toothbrush
Booth dush pase - tooth brush paste (/please can I brush my
teeth)
each (reach)
Minished - finished
She has started using other tenses -
"Could be Aria's"
"Reuben bumped Naomi"
Tim: Naomi, could you
go and get Mummy, Reuben and Miriam and tell them dinner is ready?
Naomi: No, I'm busy
Tim: Are you too busy?
Naomi: Yes, too busy.
Tim: You can take that (toy) with you and go and tell them
Naomi trotted off to tell us
Reuben and Miriam wanted to watch something, having played
football and then needing to do homework. Reuben started some serious planning
on the way home, with instructions for Miriam, I heard him telling her to take his folder out of his bag. I later went through to find that Reuben
was reading (for his reading log), and had delegated his maths homework to Miriam.
Reuben wants to be a writer when he grows up. I asked him about it and he said "Of course - who wouldn't?"
Miriam joined 'Girl Scouts' - Daisies (Rainbow equivalent)
I told Naomi this morning that I needed to cook - she said
"Mummy sleeping - Naomi cooking".
Booth Dush - tooth brush
Reuben's description
of his headache went something like this: "I had a headache today. It felt like
my head was going like this [hands demonstrating throbbing]. It was as if my
head was opening and closing [with hand movements] and when it was opening
there was a vacuum cleaner sucking out my brain [vacuum cleaner gesture and
rolling eyes around wildly] then it closed again and the next time it opened it
put it back in."
Reuben read "Harry Potter and the
"Philopeter's" Stone for the first time - and then for the
second time the same day .
Reuben decided that he might like to be a
scientist - "there are so many interesting things I could do".
Naomi (hearing the call to prayer): "Nuff
singing"
